Breaking a four-game losing streak in an unconventional manner, the Arizona Diamondbacks ended in a 2-2 tie with the San Diego Padres.

Starting on the mound for the Diamondbacks was Zac Gallen, who exited in the 3rd inning. The Padres took an early lead, thanks to Jackson Merrill’s two-run homer off Gallen in the 2nd inning.

The Diamondbacks then responded in the 5th when Jake McCarthy hit a triple, bringing home Blaze Alexander and Tucker Barnhart to level the score.

After McCarthy’s triple, the Diamondbacks managed only one more hit for the remainder of the game.

However, Arizona’s bullpen stepped up by delivering 6.1 scoreless innings across six different relievers, effectively compensating for the lackluster hitting.

Notably, the Diamondbacks’ lineup lacked any players projected to be in their Opening Day roster, as all such players had participated in yesterday’s loss to the A’s.

Looking ahead, the D-backs are set to face the Colorado Rockies tomorrow at 1:10 PM. The teams currently stand 1-1 against each other in this year’s Cactus League play.
