Arizona State’s senior guard Jose Perez has likely played his final game as a Sun Devil. The news was first reported by Blaze Sports’ Cavan Malayter ahead of Saturday’s road matchup with UCLA.

Perez is said to be pursuing professional opportunities. It is unclear whether that means to continue playing basketball at a higher level.

This is especially shocking considering the 25-year-old is coming off one of his most productive games of the season. He led the team with 25 points during their loss to USC on Thursday.

The Sun Devils (14-16, 8-11) will now be without one of their key rotational pieces for their regular season finale. More importantly, they will not have Perez for the upcoming Pac-12 Tournament set to take place from March 13-16 in Las Vegas.

Perez is Arizona State’s second-leading scorer this season and averages over 30 minutes played per game. Head coach Bobby Hurley and the team will need to put together some momentum despite being short-handed.
