After being knocked out during the 6A semifinals in 2019, Desert Vista has netted a 9-28 record over the last four seasons.
The team had four different head coaches during that span before Molander arrived at the school.
Molander was hired at Desert Vista after spending time as head coach of the Eastmark Firebirds. Molander led the Firebirds to a 3A state championship in 2022.

Despite the success he had with both Eastmark and Brophy College Prep, Molander’s season with the Thunder did not go similarly. The team finished with a 2-8 record, missing the playoffs completely once again.
Molander will now be a part of the Queen Creek Bulldogs’ staff as offensive coordinator/associate head coach.
The Bulldogs are also coming off a rough 3-8 season where they missed the playoffs. Molander will attempt to bring success to the program as he’s done in the past.
