In case you missed it, the Suns made a trade deadline move, though not quite as dramatic as their previous deal with the Nets last season, they acquired Royce O’Neale.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! In exchange, the Suns sent out three second-round picks to Brooklyn and matching salaries with four players. Additionally, Phoenix secured David Roddy from the Memphis Grizzlies in a three-team deal, as reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
As part of the trade, the Suns bid farewell to Chimezie Metu, Jordan Goodwin, Yuta Watanabe, and Keita Bates-Diop.
During his time with the Nets this season, O’Neale averaged 7.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Notably, O’Neale brings valuable playoff experience, having participated in the playoffs for six consecutive seasons, with stints at the Jazz and Nets.
On the other hand, David Roddy boasts an average of 8.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
Overall, the trade received positive feedback from fans, as evidenced by various tweets:
The Suns have a playable wing coming off the bench!

Always thought Jazz fans overrated Royce O'Neale but I do think his fit on the Suns is exactly what we need. Just keeping expectations low after all the offseason pickups that failed us.

I’m not saying he’s their savior or anything, but Royce O’Neale is a solid fit in Phoenix.
I like it.

The biggest things about Royce O’Neale for the Suns:
• His three-point attempt rate is currently 81.5%, a career high. That’s going to help.
• While he’s certainly not the defender he once was in his mid-twenties, he’s still a physical body with a high IQ on that end.

Bottom line is that Royce O’Neale is 30 years old while Torrey Craig is 33.
Idea is that Royce has a little more juice left in the tank.

Royce O'Neale is like, the most perfect connector possible for Phoenix. That's a stupidly good fit.
