However, once again hurting the Suns was turnovers. Phoenix turned the ball over 8 times in the first half, and they did not record a single steal.
While the Suns started to find some rhythm in the 3rd quarter and took a three-point lead, the Hawks responded with a 7-0 run to end the quarter.
In the 4th quarter, every Phoenix rally was cut short by three-pointers made by either Trae Young or Bogdan Bogdanovic. Bogdanovic, originally drafted by the Suns in 2017, scored 23 points off the bench.
Overall, the Hawks drilled 17 three-pointers, including 7 made by Trae Young.
Although everyone in the Suns’ starting five finished in double digits, Bradley Beal, dealing with a nasal fracture, had a particularly rough shooting night. Missing all 6 attempts from beyond the arc, Beal ended the game with 14 points on 5-15 shooting.
The Suns will wrap up their 7-game road trip on Sunday against the Washington Wizards, with tipoff scheduled for 1:30 PM.Â
