After the Suns’ victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, Jusuf Nurkic voiced his frustration about the lack of MVP recognition for his teammates, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Durant had an outstanding game, scoring 33 points and providing 8 assists during the win. Booker, who finished the night with 22 points, has been averaging an impressive 39.2 points over the past five games.
Looking at the season overall, KD ranks 5th in points per game, closely followed by Booker in 6th place. Additionally, among shooting guards, Booker is 2nd in field goal percentage, just behind his teammate Grayson Allen. Durant, classified as a power forward, holds the 2nd position in three-point percentage, shooting an impressive 44.9% from beyond the arc.
However, despite nearing the top of the leaderboard in numerous offensive categories, KD and Booker remain absent from MVP talks. Currently, Durant sits at 7th in most sportsbooks, while Booker is placed at 14th.
Speaking on the matter, Jusuf Nurkic commented, “MVP conversation, he’s not there. Book’s not there. Sometimes it’s just ridiculous for me that those people aren’t there.”

Unfortunately for Booker and KD, it would be extremely difficult for either of them to emerge as MVP candidates. The current trend in MVP considerations favors a one-man show over a team effort, whether justified or not. And, considering the talent that the Suns have spread across the court, a one-man show just would not work.
