The Mesa Jackrabbits Varsity Boys Soccer team has climbed up significantly in the state’s high school soccer rankings.

After drawing with the San Luis Sidewinders in their first game of the season, the Jackrabbits have shown nothing short of dominance.

Mesa has won eight straight and outscored its opponents 33-4 during that time. The team is coming off a season where they finished with a 14-6-2 record and lost in the second round of the 6A playoffs.
They are currently ranked No. 2 in the state behind only Sunnyside and it has become evident that the Jackrabbits should be considered a championship favorite this season.
Mesa’s leading goalscorer this season has been junior forward Fredy Alvarez, with six goals.

Mesa next matches up against the 3-5-2 Brophy College Prep Broncos on Tuesday, Jan. 9 @ 7 p.m.
The Jackrabbits will attempt to extend their winning streak and stay elite as the playoffs approach.
