In the second quarter alone, Gordon had 17 points on 6-of-7 field goals and 5-of-6 shooting from three-point range.

The Rockets welcomed back the 35-year-old veteran with a tribute video after he spent seven seasons in Houston and made the playoffs four times.

Gordon was traded to the Clippers at the trade deadline last season and then signed with the Suns this offseason.

His big performance was part of a few players who really stepped up for the Suns, who could not put together a complete game recently.

Phoenix desperately needed a night like tonight, as they entered the game having lost three straight and nine of their last 12. Gordon had recently been reported to having wanted a larger role with the Suns after he had 0 points against the Kings last Friday.

Tonight, he got that and more, as the Suns finally showed their full potential against the Rockets with Bradley Beal’s return seemingly coming real soon.

Phoenix now heads home with momentum, as they begin a six-game homestand Friday vs. the Charlotte Hornets.
