O’Connor entered the 6A conference playoffs as the No. 8 seed and made it to the semifinals. However, the team fell short 10-3 to the eventual 6A champions Hamilton Huskies.
Despite the loss, this run further proved that the team is a constant championship contender and should be treated like such heading into the new season.
O’Connor’s Departures
As with every school, the team lost several key players to graduation in May.
This includes two of their top pitchers from last season, Carson Stoller and Josh Butler. However, they have more than enough talent to compensate for the losses, including current junior pitcher Carter Daly. Daly went 3-0 with a 3.5 ERA last season.
The Eagles will look to continue their level of play despite the key losses to the team.
Season Outlook
O’Connor may be overlooked when talking about who may take home the 6A championship, but they should be taken seriously and can compete with any team in the state.
Keep a close eye on the Eagles and their upcoming baseball season.
