Burn City Best Bets: NFL Week 11

The NFL is now in week 11. Here are the five can’t miss spreads of the week.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

Los Angeles Chargers -3 @ the Green Bay Packers

The (4-5) Los Angeles Chargers are on the road against the (3-6) Green Bay Packers. The big advantage that the Green Bay Packers have over west coast or indoor teams is the weather. That is not the case for this game as it is projected to be 47 degrees and sunny on Sunday in Green Bay.

The Packers are struggling offensively. They have only scored 21 or more points in two games this season. Those two games were in weeks one and two. I don’t see the Packers being able to keep up with the Chargers offense. Los Angeles averages 26.6 points per game, which is seventh best in the NFL.

The Chargers don’t have a great defense but the Packers don’t have the offense to take advantage of that. Los Angeles should win this game by more than three points.

Jacksonville Jaguars -7 vs Tennessee Titans

The (6-3) Jacksonville Jaguars are at home against the (3-6) Tennessee Titans. The Jaguars are coming off of a horrible game against the San Francisco 49ers where they lost 34-3. The Titans also lost a one-sided game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 20-6.

The Jaguars are better built to respond to a bad loss as they have an offense led by Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence has a plethora of weapons at his disposal. The Titans offense is not in a good place to bounce back as rookie quarterback Will Levis is trying to figure it out. I don’t see Tennessee’s offense keeping up with the Jaguars.

The Titans have scored less than 20 points in four of their last five games. Prior to their poor performance against the 49ers, the Jaguars scored at least 20 points in their previous five games. Jacksonville should get back to being a good offensive team against the Titans and win by more than seven points.

Dallas Cowboys -10.5 @ Carolina Panthers

The (6-3) Dallas Cowboys are on the road against the (1-8) Carolina Panthers. Usually a 10.5 point spread is on to stay away from but I have no worry about the Panthers keeping this game close.

The Cowboys are simply the much better team. They have a top five offense and a top five defense while the Panthers have a bottom five offense and defense. This is a classic mismatch where the Cowboys should win by 11 or more points in an easy fashion.

San Francisco 49ers -11.5 vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The (6-3) San Francisco 49ers are at home against the (4-5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This game includes another big time spread that is usually a “stay away”. San Francisco is a much better team than the Buccaneers. The 49ers are better in every aspect of the game.

San Francisco is ninth in passing yards per game and they are going against the 31st ranked pass defense. The 49ers should be able to pass the ball at will and score easily.

The Bucs struggle to score on offense, averaging 19.2 points per game. They are going against the second ranked defense in the NFL. San Francisco only gives up 15.9 points per game. The 49ers should win this game by 12 points are more.

Denver Broncos -2.5 vs Minnesota Vikings

The (4-5) Denver Broncos are home against the (6-3) Minnesota Vikings. This may be my riskiest pick based on the records and team rankings but hear me out. The Broncos are on a three game win steak. In those three wins they have given up 17,9, and 22 points respectively. The game where their defense only gave up nine points was against the defending Superbowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

The Vikings are the feel good story of the NFL right now. They acquired quarterback Joshua Dobbs from the Arizona Cardinals and he has led them to two victories. As a person who has watched the Cardinals all season, I know the Dobbs story is full of ups an downs and a down is coming against this much improved Broncos defense.

Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson has also played a lot better of the last few weeks. Over the last three weeks he has completed 71.6% of his passes, thrown six touchdowns and no interceptions. I like Denver to win by more than three points.
