Game one of the World Series last night was absolutely electric, and our bets from game one didn’t do too bad. Today we have a potentially great pitching matchup. The Arizona Diamondbacks are giving the ball to Merrill Kelly tonight who is coming off of a great start against the Phillies. Texas is starting Jordan Montgomery who has been very good all post season long. The Rangers are going into tonight’s game one with a 1-0 series lead thanks to an Adolis Garcia walk off.

Going into tonight the Diamondbacks are the underdog with a +124 money line. Arizona is coming off of a loss where, to be honest, aside from three or four at bats looked like the better team last night. The Diamondbacks had control of the majority of that game. If they don’t walk the leadoff batter in the ninth, they would be in the driver’s seat of this series. Additionally, I like the Diamondbacks tonight because of Merrill Kelly. Merrill Kelly went into Philly, threw a job at their fans, and won an elimination game. Going into a hostile environment like that, talking trash and winning the biggest start of your life, takes guts. I love Merrill Kelly tonight; he threw exceptionally well against a billion-dollar Phillies lineup and I think he’ll do the same tonight.
Pitcher Props
Tonight has all the potential to be a great pitching matchup. Montgomery who has been great this post season for Texas. Merrill Kelly who has gone under the radar all year and has quietly been one of the best pitchers in the MLB. Diamondbacks number two Merrill Kelly has a strike outs line set at 5.5 and I love it. Texas struck out a total of eight times to Diamondbacks pitchers yesterday. In my opinion, Kelly has the best strike out stuff of any Diamondbacks pitcher. I also like Montgomery over 5.5 hits allowed. The Diamondbacks pride themselves on putting pressure on defenses, putting the ball in play and getting on base.
Hitter Props
I’m going right back to the bread and butter for this Diamondbacks team. Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte. They are both plus money to go over 1.5 total bases and I love the over. If Carroll or Marte get on base, they showed us yesterday that they are going to be aggressive on the base path. Carroll’s bat has been hot the past two games he has played, grabbing extra base hits in both of them. Marte has just been a different animal. He is having a historic post season run at the plate, and I’m riding it until the wheels fall off.
