In the game on Tuesday, the story was about the Coyotes goaltending having a rough night at the office.

As the starter, Connor Ingram gave up 3 goals on the first 9 shots he faced in the first period.

Down 3-1, Arizona head coach André Tourigny decided to swap Ingram for their other goaltender, Karel Vejmelka.

Vejmelka did better as he saved 16 of the 18 attempts by the Kings.

Not looking at the score, it was a fairly even game in terms of chances as LA had 28 shots and the ‘Yotes collected 27.

However, for the majority, it felt like the offense only came in spurts while the rest of the contest didn’t have much fluidity to it.

For tonight’s matchup, Coyotes forwards Nick Schmaltz and Clayton Keller are still the team leaders in points with 7 in 6.

Leading the way for LA, left winger Kevin Fiala has a goal and 8 assists for 9 points in 6 games.

Currently, Fiala is third in the NHL in assists, only behind New Jersey Devils’ Jack Hughes with 13 and Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin who has 11.

Overall, Arizona is 121-91-25-11 against Los Angeles in their franchises history.

Last season, the “Desert Dogs” were 1-1-1 versus the Kings.

In LA, the Coyotes lost 5-3 on Dec. 1, 2022 and 6-5 in a shootout on Feb. 18.

But at Mullett Arena, the ‘Yotes were victorious in a 2-1 shootout dub on Dec. 23, 2022.

Arizona is 1-0 in Tempe so far this season after winning their home-opener 2-1 against the Anaheim Ducks last Saturday.

Will the “Mullett Magic” strike twice against the Los Angeles Kings?
