In the 20-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 22, Ertz endured the quad strain.
Being placed on the IR, the three-time Pro Bowler will miss at least the next 4 games.
Additionally, this is the second time in two seasons that Ertz has suffered a substantial injury.
Last year, Ertz dealt with a knee injury that ruled him out for the rest of the 2022 campaign.
So far, Ertz has 27 catches for 187 yards and a touchdown in 7 games this season for Arizona.
Overall as a Cardinal, Ertz has been in the valley for 3 years and has played in 28 total contests.
Moreover, the tight end has caught 13 passes, recorded 1167 yards and scored 8 touchdowns in Arizona.
This is yet another blow to the Cardinals offense as they have already been without stars Kyler Murray (ACL) and James Conner (knee) due to injuries.
As a corresponding move, Arizona have signed tight end Blake Whitehart to the active roster from the practice squad.
