Of course, everybody knows how that story ended as the Diamondbacks went on to walk off the Yankees in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series.
And now, on their 25th anniversary season, the Diamondbacks have picked up their first NLCS wins since this magical 2001 run.
While their payroll is somehow almost the same as it was back in 2001, the D-backs have embarked on quite the underdog story.
Tonight, against the Phillies, the D-backs have a chance to take their first lead of this year’s NLCS and can potentially be just one win away from a second World Series appearance.
