Ketel Marte Is On The Verge Of History

Ketel Marte has been on a run this October that no MLB fan has seen since the 1990s.

On October 2, 1996, Marquis Grissom got a hit in Game 1 of the NLDS. That was a hit in his first 15 postseason games. That would be a record by two games.

Now, Ketel Marte is flirting with it. Marte just got a single in the 8th inning of Game 5 of the NLCS. This gave him 14 straight postseason games with a hit. He’s only played in 14. If Marte gets a hit in Philly in Game 6, he will tie Marquis Goodwin’s record.

If Marte can get a walk-off like he did in Game 3, he will have a chance to break that record in this postseason. Can Marte keep this historic streak alive?
