Devin Booker and Bradley Beal are out tonight and Eric Gordon and Grayson Allen will start in their place. This may be Frank Vogel’s attempt to look at some different lineups. One of Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, or Devin Booker will most likely always be in the game. So in this game Vogel and the coaching staff will get a chance to see how Gordon and Allen play along side Durant.
This may also be a chance for Grayson Allen to win that fifth starter spot. He has been a full time starter over the last three seasons for the Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks.
Josh Okogie is also starting tonight and was a starter for the Suns in 26 games last season. Okogie looked to be the front runner for the fifth starter spot but things may have changed.
Frank Vogel has stated that he is not stressed with this decision.
I asked #Suns coach Frank Vogel and guard Grayson Allen about the competition for the team’s fifth starter spot. Here’s what they had to say:
Who do you think deserves the nod as of right now? 🤔

This is a good problem to have as the Suns have more then five starting quality players on the roster. It will be interesting to see if the way Allen or Okogie play tonight has an impact on the decision of who will start or maybe Frank Vogel has already made that decision.
