The team needed a win down 2-0 and many didn’t think they could get it done pitching-wise without Zac Gallen or Merrill Kelly. Well, Pfaadt has stepped up to the challenge.
In addition to this record, Pfaadt is the only pitcher to go four scoreless innings to start any game against the Phillies this postseason. This comes after Pfaadt’s last appearance in the D-backs’ series-clinching win over the Dodgers. Pfaadt pitched 4.1 scoreless innings in this game, striking out two and only allowing two hits.
Pfaadt is currently at four scoreless innings pitched today with seven strikeouts. The Diamondbacks’ offense has not helped him out, however, and the game is a 0-0 tie through four innings.
