Phillies fans’ unconventional ticket-buying strategy falls on its face

After the Diamondbacks were blown out 10-0 in Game 2, ticket prices for Game 3 at Chase Field quickly plummeted to as low as $10 in the upper decks.

As a result, an odd trend began on social media, which consisted of Phillies fans, who live in Philadelphia, buying up the upper deck seats in a desperate attempt to prevent the Diamondbacks from holding too large of a home field advantage.

However, despite a handful of fans across social media actually pulling the trigger and purchasing some upper deck tickets, the attempt ultimately fell flat on its face.

Instead, Chase Field got a few extra dollars from fans on the other side of the country.

In the end, over 47 thousand fans came out to watch the Diamondbacks walk off the Phillies in Game 3 of the NLCS.

It was the Diamondbacks first NLCS win since 2001.
