Dillingham talked a lot about creating turnovers which would be key for a team that’s struggled taking the ball over from offenses this season.

However, a key element that he discussed post-practice today was not necessarily being positive on time of possessions, but how to maintain an efficient offense as well as win the points per possession battle. This will be the deciding factor in this game come Saturday.

Burn City insider Zac Tipton asked Dillingham a question about possibly preparing for a shootout against Washington and how efficient offense is the key for this spectrum.

Washington is without question a powerhouse, to say the least. Their offense ranks top 3 in total yards per game number 2 in the Pac-12 and they rank Number 1 in passing yards per game in both Pac-12 and the nation.

They can be had a little on defense as they rank eighth out of 12th in the Pac-12 in total yards given up at 394 per game. They rank ninth in the Pac-12 in passing yards given up per game and they rank seventh in the Pac-12 in rushing yards given up in the Pac-12.

The efficient offense is something ASU can manage to obtain in this contest as long as they don’t put themselves in third-and-long situations as well as turn the ball over.
