Joe Mantiply faced six batters and four of them — including all three lefties he faced — reached.
Now, Ryne Nelson is on in something of a mop-up role with the Diamondbacks down 6-0.

Watching Ryne Nelson pitch in the NLCS for my team just kills my soul

Let’s just say the pitching was terrible. The first three pitchers that pitched allowed 3+ runs. The batting wasn’t much better.
Can we leave Lourdes Gurriel Jr in Philly? Since he’s clearly playing for them and not us

Phillies are just out-pitching the dbacks. Wheeler and Nola have been ELITE. dbacks get behind in counts and can’t come back from it that keeps creating dead innings. Tommy Pham has looked awful these last two games.

Let’s not forget about Aaron Nola. He pitched 6 scoreless, only allowing three hits.
Aaron Nola got the Diamondbacks in shackles right now

Outside of a wall-scraping home run by Geraldo Perdomo against Zack Wheeler in Game 1, Wheeler and Aaron Nola completely shut down the Diamondbacks:
12 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 15 K.

I guess Aaron Nola did destroy them, after all. #Phillies
— Jacob Liss (@DingersLiss) October 18, 2023
Aaron Nola had just two scoreless starts of at least six innings this regular season — in 32 starts overall.
He's already done it twice in three starts this postseason.

The Diamondbacks fall behind 2-0. They now leave Citizens Bank Park and come back to Chase Field. It does not look good.
