Ahead of game one tonight in Philly, the Phillies are still a staggering favorite, according to the people and the sportsbooks. People seem to be forgetting that the Diamondbacks have played four road playoffs game already.

comparing the rosters I can see why the casual fan would bet on the Phillies. The Phillies spent a billion dollars on their roster and on paper are the far superior team. They have an all star lineup, and two guys who competed in the WBC. So in that sense, yeah the Phillies are the better team. But, the Diamondbacks have the chemistry. There’s a lot of guys that have played together for years. Whether it was in the minors or in the big leagues.
Road Warriors
The Arizona Diamondbacks have won four out of their five games on the road. They have let to lose a playoff game, and have beaten two division winners in the process. Let me rephrase that, the Diamondbacks have swept two division winners in the process. Arizona’s pitching staff hasn’t allowed more than three runs. The Dodgers scored two runs in each of their three games against the Diamondbacks. A 100 win team was shut down by this Diamondbacks staff, who by the way, spent a billion dollars on their roster too.
Does Nobody Love a Cinderella Story Anymore?
This Arizona team is one series win away from a world series. Just two years ago the Diamondbacks lost 115 games. This is supposed to be a rebuild. We know how that turned out of the Orioles. Supposed to be on a rebuild, had a great year, got swept in their first series. The Diamondbacks are proving that they’re more than just a young team that will be good in a couple years. I’m riding with the young rebuilding team.
