The Arizona Diamondbacks have fallen behind 1-0 in the NLCS after losing 5-3 against the Phillies in front of a rowdy crowd at Citizens Bank Park.

While the Diamondbacks pulled out their ace Zac Gallen to start this Game 1 matchup, it took no time at all for the Phillies to pick up right where they left off in the NLDS.

On the very first pitch of the evening, Kyle Schwarber launched a bomb into the right field bleachers.

Then, a few batters later, Bryce Harper picked up his 4th home run this postseason to put his team up 2-0.

The Phillies wacked three solo shots in the first two inning to give them an early lead.

Zac Gallen was forced out of the game after allowing five earned runs in five innings. He allowed 8 hits in this span, which was more than he had in all five of his starts against the Phillies throughout his career.

On the offensive side, it would not be until the 6th inning where the Diamondbacks finally got on the scoreboard.

A two-run home run off the bat of Geraldo Perdomo helped the Diamondbacks make it a 5-2 game.

However, following one more run tacked on in the 7th inning, Arizona fell one big hit short of completing the comeback.

Tommy Pham, Christian Walker, Gabriel Moreno, and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. combined for a 0-14 night right in the heart of the Diamondbacks lineup.

Tomorrow, the D-backs will have Merrill Kelly on the mound as they attempt to even the series before heading back home.
