After leaving the then-Cleveland Indians following the 1998 season, Lovullo wrapped up his career with the Phillies in 1999 for his eighth and final MLB campaign.

While being in Philadelphia, Lovullo played in 17 games and went 8-for-41 with a .211 batting average.

Overall, Lovullo appeared in 303 MLB games before playing 29 games in the Nippon Professional Baseball league in Japan before retiring.

Now, Lovullo gets to play the team he ended his playing career with in arguably the most important game as the Diamondbacks manager.

The best-of-seven NLCS series between Arizona and the Phillies begins in Game 1 tomorrow at 5:07 p.m at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
