Diamondbacks await their NLCS opponent as the schedule is announced

Arizona Diamondbacks Ketel Marte (4) hits a home run off Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Lance Lynn (35) in the third inning during Game 3 of the NLDS at Chase Field in Phoenix on Oct. 11, 2023.

While the Arizona Diamondbacks may not know who they are playing yet, the official schedule has been released for this year’s NLCS.

Whether it be against the Braves or the Phillies, Game 1 will be played on Monday, October 16th, on TBS.

No matter who the Diamondbacks play, they will start the series on the road, as Arizona won just 84 games during the regular season.

Notably, the D-backs will have four days of rest before the NLCS begins.

Which, according to many fans who saw their team get knocked out in the first round this year, is a troubling thing as clubs can quickly lose their momentum.

On the bright side, the Diamondbacks will have Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly ready to go on full rest for games 1 and 2.

This is the D-backs first trip to the NLCS since 2007.
