While a change in the punting department certainly is not an everyday occurrence, the Arizona Cardinals have made the decision to part ways with Nolan Cooney.
In his place, they’ve welcomed Blake Gillikin to the active roster.
Nolan Cooney had previously spent time on the Cardinals’ practice squad last season before being promoted as their starting punter for all four games this year.
During this season, Cooney averaged 45.5 yards on 13 punts, placing him 23rd in the NFL.
Now, the Cardinals are turning to Blake Gillikin, who boasts experience from his 17 games with the Saints in 2021 and 2022.
Last year, Gillikin averaged 46.4 yards per punt across 77 attempts.
Stay tuned for further updates.
