Pfaadt was drafted in the 5th round by the Diamondbacks in 2020, he then made his major league debut earlier this season.
Unfortunately, Pfaadt’s rookie year has been particulary kind to him. The 24-year-old RHP wrapped up the 2023 season with a 3-9 record matched with an ERA of 5.72.
But, after having to use Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly pitch over the weekend, the Diamondbacks do not have much of a choice.
On a brighter note, Pfaadt has shown promise with a couple of standout performances recently. In September, Brandon recorded two shutouts and pitched at least five innings in three out of five starts.
Notably, all three of his wins came after mid-August, a significant turnaround from his 0-6 start to the season.
The first pitch for the Diamondbacks’ Game 1 clash against the Brewers is set for 4:08 PM on Tuesday.
