Phoenix brings in Nurkić to replace Deandre Ayton at the center position after almost a week of rumors that the team would do so.
The 6-foot-11 Nurkić, 29, averaged 13.3 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 52 games played and started for the Portland Trail Blazers last season. He was traded to Portland in the 2016-17 season from Denver. The Bulls selected him with the 16th overall pick in 2014, but he has only played for the Nuggets and Blazers.
The other new pieces from the Blazers: Nassir Little and Keon Johnson likely arrived today as well, but did not post about it yet.
New Suns players Jusuf Nurkic, Nassir Little and Keon Johnson will be on their way to Phoenix this afternoon.

- Blazers Receive: Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, 2029 1st round pick via Bucks and two pick swaps with the Bucks
- Suns Receive: Jusuf Nurkić, Nassir Little, Keon Johnson and Grayson Allen
We will likely meet all of these new players at Suns’ Media Day on Oct. 2 if the team does not schedule an introductory press conference beforehand.
Stay tuned for ongoing coverage of the trade.
