The biggest key to the Diamondbacks success thus far in this series has been their pitching staff’s ability to shut down a Cubs offense that was previously on a tear.

Over the past 28 innings, the Diamondbacks have allowed just four runs. Which is quite remarkable considering the Cubs were averaging over nine runs per game in their previous four matchups.

But, tomorrow, things get interesting as the D-backs will have rookie Brandon Pfaadt getting the start. This season, Pfaadt holds an abysmal 1-8 record with an ERA of 6.27.

Because of this, Chicago is favored to win with -152 odds, per FanDuel Sportsbook.

Here are some bets worth considering for this matchup that have some series Wild Card implications:

Brandon Pfaadt O 4.5 hits allowed (-150)

Brandon Pfaadt has allowed over five hits in 10 of his 15 starts this season. In starts against teams with a record of .500 or better, he has allowed at least six hits in seven of the 11 games.

The Cubs, despite their struggles this series, still have 66 hits over the last seven days, which is third in all of baseball in this span.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. O hits (-245)

This season, during day games, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has an impressive .284 batting average compared to a .241 BA at night.

He also has significantly better numbers on the road compared to at home this year.

Of course, always bet responsibly.
