And it could not have come at a better time.

With the National League Wild Card race living up to the hype, the Diamondbacks have now taken a 2-0 series lead over the red-hot Cubs, thanks to a complete masterpiece by their ace, Zac Gallen.

The once Cy Young front-runner entered Friday with back-to-back underwhelming outings. In both of these starts, Gallen allowed at least five earned runs and couldn’t manage to escape the 6th inning.

But, just as any premier pitcher does, Zac Gallen bounced back in a huge way, allowing the Diamondbacks to defeat the Cubs despite scoring just one run offensively.

Which left fans across the league in awe.

There is really no other better example of a revenge game.

With this win, not only have the Diamondbacks secured a series split against the Cubs, but they are now only two games back from the second Wild Card spot.

The two teams will be back in action tomorrow at 11:20 AM. Merrill Kelly is scheduled to take the mound for Arizona as he attempts to keep the momentum rolling.
