After going down early, it appeared the Diamondbacks were going to lose their third series in a row. Arizona saw themselves down 4-0 after the first inning. The Diamondbacks trailed until a five run third inning.

Zach Davies started todays affairs, going just three complete innings on the hill and allowing 5 earned runs on six hits. Thankfully for the Diamondbacks, the bullpen was absolutely lights out today. Arizona threw five pitchers the rest of the game, Bryce Jarvis was the only one of the five to throw two innings. Jarvis threw two complete innings, not allowing any runs, or hits. The entire arm barn didn’t surrender a single hit from the start of the fourth, until the final out of the game.

The boys were swinging some hot bats!

Offensively, the Diamondbacks lit the Rockies pitching staff up. The Colorado Rockies, like the Arizona Diamondbacks went through six pitchers throughout the game. Colorado only had one of their six pitchers not allow a run to the Diamondbacks hitters.

Arizona had four hitters with multiple hits. Tommy Pham led the Diamondbacks with three hits, two of those were doubles. Pham also lead the team reaching base four times. Alek Thomas and Lourdes Gurriel Jr also had multiple hit games, and both went yard. Jose Herrera also joined in on the fun, grabbing two base hits, a double and a single. 11 of the Diamondbacks 12 runs came in the form of RBIs, a much better performance than last nights game. In last nights game the Diamondbacks ended five of the nine innings with runners in scoring position.

The Diamondbacks improve to 72-68 on the season, and just half a game out of the Wildcard. Arizona will play in Chicago against the Cubs tomorrow afternoon with the first pitch at 4:40. The Diamondbacks have yet to decide a pitcher.
