The Phoenix Rising (10-8-8) are back after an impressive 2-1 win against the Sacramento Republic FC (13-9-5) at home. On Saturday evening, the Rising will take on the Rio Grande Valley Toros (7-11-9) in their final match of a two-game home stand.

The Rising are looking to pull off back-to-back wins at home against a team that defeated them 1-0 less than two weeks ago in Edinburg, Texas.

During the Rising’s previous matchup with Rio Grande, the Toros scored their first and only goal at the 17-minute mark. Although the Rising had four shots on target, they failed to score the tying goal in the remaining 73 minutes.

Granted their recent loss to the Torros, the Rising have a historical 6-2 edge over Rio Grande. For the Rising to pull off a win on Saturday, the team will have to put together 90 solid minutes of elite soccer – something that manager Juan Guerra has noted the team has been struggling with in recent matches.

The Rising look to extend their win streak to three as they kick off against the Toros on Saturday night at 7:30 at Phoenix Rising Stadium.
