Following a recent segment on the Pat McAfee show, in which former NFL GM Michael Lombardi proposed that the Cardinals could potentially keep Kyler Murray off the field for the entire season to capitalize on financial gains, Jonathan Gannon has responded to the rumors.

The Cardinals head coach attempted to squander any such speculation during a press conference on Wednesday.

Kyler is still on the Cardinals PUP list, which means he will be sidelined until at least Week Five.

However, at least according to Gannon, the Cardinals will get their former first-round pick out onto the field as soon as he is fully healthy.

Overall, since he was drafted back in 2019, Kyler Murray holds a 25-31-1 record as a starting quarterback for the Cardinals.

For reference, this clip may be what led to Gannon being questioned about Murray actually playing this year.

So far during preseason practice, Murray has been mostly observing and occasionally throwing lightly on the sidelines.

The average recovery time from a torn ACL and MCL can vary anywhere from seven months to a full year. Currently, Murray is about to enter his ninth month of the rehab process.
