Phoenix Mercury Fall to Atlanta Dream; Losing Streak Up to 7

The Mercury lose another one tonight as this time they fall to the Atlanta Dream by a final score of 94-76 moving their losing streak now to 7.

It started off badly for the Mercury when they shot 1 of 8 from the floor and got down early 21-2. The Dream shot 61% from the floor in the first quarter and ended the game shooting 52% as the Mercury couldn’t recover.

The Mercury ended the game shooting 55% and Sug Sutton was the standout player on the team scoring 20 points off the bench and going 6-7 from the floor while shooting 3-3 from three-point range.

Britney Griner and Moriah Jefferson both scored 16 points while the other Mercury players failed to get over 10 points for the game.

The most shocking part of the night was Diana Taurasi was scoreless in the first half as the star player couldn’t get it going throughout the night.

The Mercury led the game with 16 turnovers which has been a theme this year for the squad and something they’re looking to clean up as they go into the offseason in less than a month.

As for the Dream, Cheyenne Parker scored 25 points and Allisha Gray scored 18 points to lead their team. Guard Rhyne Howard scored 15 points tallied 7 rebounds and added 6 assists. She also had 3 blocks to finish off her impressive game as well.

Mercury are eliminated from playoff contention with 97-94 loss to Wings

The Mercury are looking to get back to their winning ways on Thursday night against the Connecticut Sun.
