Hovland leads after round 3, FedExCup still up for grabs

In the second to last day of the PGA TOUR Championship, No. 3 Viktor Hovland has taken a commanding lead over his competitors. Hovland finished 4-under par at the conclusion of Saturday’s round and 20-under through three rounds.

This puts Hovland 6 strokes ahead of second place finisher, Xander Schauffelle. Schauffele finished 2-under par and is 14-under after three rounds. 

Morikawa has fallen from his first place position from the first two days and is sitting in third after round three on Saturday, tied with Keegan Bradley at 13-under.

After one of his best performances of the playoffs on Friday, ASU’s Jon Rahm held steady at the fifth spot shooting 1-over par and 11-under after day three of the tournament. 

Tied with Rahm in fifth, is No. 1 ranked Scottie Scheffler and Wyndham Clark who made an impressive leap after finishing eighth at the conclusion of Friday’s round. 

A tight race to the finish is expected on Sunday between the top four players in FedExCup rankings – No.1 Scheffler, No. 2 Hovland, No. 3 Rory Mcllroy and No. 4 Rahm. The championship and the FedExCup is up for grabs going into round four. 

Round four will kick off at 10:46 a.m. on Sunday morning. Mcllroy and Adam Schenk tee off at 12:56 p.m. Scheffler and Patrick Cantlay at 1:07 p.m. Clark and Rahm at 1:18 p.m. Bradley and Morikawa at 1:29 p.m. Hovland and Schauffele will finish out round four, teeing off at 1:40 p.m. Tee times on Sunday are ET.
