In his preseason bout to finally earn a spot on the Eagles finalized roster, Allen made headlines on Wednesday after showing off his speed while returning a kickoff by the Indianapolis Colts.

Allen has been fighting for a roster spot on the Philadelphia Eagles since 2022 after being waived and assigned to the practice squad in August of 2022.

A standout track star at the University of Oregon, Allen took first place in the 110m hurdles during the 2016 Olympic trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. With his qualifications in 2016, Allen has competed in two Olympic games since then. He took fourth place at Tokyo and fifth at Rio.

At U of O, Allen also played football as a wide receiver from 2014-16. His first year with the team was the most impressive with seven touchdowns and 684 receiving yards.

Allen’s speed and athleticism is becoming hard to overlook for the Eagles as they come closer to finalizing their regular season roster. No matter the outcome, Allen will continue to make headlines. It just depends on if it will be for the NFL or his Track and Field success.
