One the flip side, the Diamondbacks made an early impact by scoring three runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning.
Following base hits by Christian Walker and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. to open the inning, Alek Thomas was walked, setting up a bases-loaded, no-out situation.
Although Jace Peterson grounded into a double play, a two-out rally ignited by Geraldo Perdomo and Corbin Carroll enabled the Diamondbacks to post a crooked number.
Arizona would extend their lead further with a pair of runs in the 5th inning.
Despite being outhit by the Rangers 13-9, Arizona’s offense delivered precisely when needed, mirroring their performance in the series opener.
They also received assistance from their defense, notably when Alek Thomas went into a superman-like dive in the ninth inning.

During the past few weeks, the Diamondbacks’ bullpen has found a consistent rhythm. A testament to this was Paul Sewald’s sixth consecutive shutout outing since his blown save on August 6th.
Even better, Arizona’s bullpen will enjoy a day off tomorrow before embarking on a four-game series against the Reds, which begins on Thursday.
After winning nine of their last eleven games, the Diamondbacks would enter this series as an official Wild Card team if the season were to end today.
