Azubuike was a former first-overall pick for the Utah Jazz back in 2020. Last season Azubuike only averaged 10 minutes of play and scored 3.5 PPG on 82% FG. He also averaged 3.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists.

He’s only 23 years old and is still developing into a role on a team. With him signing a two-way contract, this means Azubuike can only suit up for 50 of the Suns’ 82 games as well as not be eligible as a rotation player come playoff time.

The Suns now have 18 players on the roster which means Azubuike will be utilized as a camp body mainly and will be competing for a role on the team.
