Just like the rest of us, Bradley Beal was in complete shock when he heard the news that he would be heading to Phoenix this season.

After the announcement, Beal recounted how he immediately denied the possibility of a trade with the Suns.

“I was like, ‘Why are they trading books?'” he said. “Like there’s no way that this is happening. Like, this can’t be; this isn’t right.”

However, now that the three-time All-Star is actually in Phoenix, it has all become very real.

“But fast forward, he’s here, I’m here, Kevin’s here, and DA [Deandre Ayton]’s here. It’s surreal and crazy to think about how the deal even came to fruition, but it’s done, and I’m in an awesome situation where I can compete every single night for a chance to win.”

The 2023–2024 season will be Beal’s 11th in the league and his first not with the Wizards.

But more importantly, Beal may finally have the chance to play in a league championship, or even better, the NBA Finals.
