Following the release of WR DeAndre Hopkins, fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the Cardinals front office as no trade deals were able to fall through, resulting in a giant dead cap hit.
While it may have already been obvious, the release of the future Hall of Famer solidifies the tank in Arizona.
The Cardinals are tanking, and that's a good thing. Take your medicine in 2023 and try to rejoin the chase in 2024 with a healthy Kyler + myriad draft picks + cap space.

The Arizona Cardinals just released a top 10 NFL WR (when healthy).

There was an overall feeling of disappointment as the Cardinals failed to receive any value in return.
You can’t get ANYTHING for a top 5 receiver in the NFL? That’s a failure. https://t.co/CQOwzFsPAc

Are you serious @AZCardinals you got absolutely nothing for Hopkins?

Steve Keim is at fault for where the Arizona Cardinals are right now. Having to release Deandre Hopkins is on him.
This is Monti Ossenfort starting to make unfortunate decisions to clean up the mess.

And cut. I expected a lot more from Hop. Disappointing. Good luck with the 6-8 games you're available in Buffalo #Birdgang

Let me stand at the top of this hill and pledge my allegiance to Monti Ossenfort, who’s been tasked with the enormous clean-up of our former GM’s aftermath.
Just imagine…
Kudos, Monti… KUDOS! #BirdGang

And of course, there were plenty of fans calling for Hopkins to join their team this upcoming season.
Many pointed out a recent podcast interview where Hopkins stated the five quarterbacks that he would most like to receive passes from. The five named were Justin Herbert, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, and Lamar Jackson.
You free now come on to the kingdom @DeAndreHopkins

Seems unlikely, but the Cowboys are the favorites to land DeAndre Hopkins (via @betonline_ag) pic.twitter.com/JwJjEprFQs

DeAndre Hopkins says #Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is one of the few quarterbacks in the league he would love to play with.
He also added he wants a QB who “loves the game” and “pushes not just himself but everybody around him” as well as a team with a “great defense”

The Patriots, who previously checked in on DeAndre Hopkins, are more likely to pursue him now that the contract isn't as much of a hurdle, per sources. Financial competition is a factor, but there should be a level of interest from New England.

The #Panthers currently have $27,3M in cap space available.
That ranks 2nd in the league.Could Scott Fitterer & co. make a move and bring DeAndre Hopkins back home? 👀 pic.twitter.com/HrtO44PZEP
