It was a crazy game 4 win for the Phoenix Suns as they defeated the Denver Nuggets by a final score of 129-124. Devin Booker finished with 36 points on 14-18 shooting, Kevin Durant finished with 36 points on 11-19 shooting, and Landry Shamet off the bench finished with 19 points and 5 threes.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! They won in spite of a career-high night by Nikola Jokic in which he scored 53 points and dished out 11 assists. Yet despite all of this back-and-forth great play, that didn’t end up becoming the biggest thing from the game on Sunday night.
In the first half, Suns owner Mat Ishbia was sitting courtside when the ball went out of bounds to him in the crowd and Jokic went over to take the ball from him to give back to the ref before he gave him a slight shove which caused Ishbia to fall back in his seat.
The clip of this went viral everywhere yesterday and it continues to be a hot topic everywhere this morning. Even on Twitter today, Ishbia typed out a statement talking about the incident and he doesn’t think either he or Jokic should be fined or suspended.
Great win for the Suns last night in an amazing series so far!
That should be and is the only story. Suspending or fining anyone over last nights incident would not be right. I have alot of respect for Jokic and don’t want to see anything like that. Excited for game 5! Go Suns!— Mat Ishbia (@Mishbia15) May 8, 2023
Ishbia in the statement also acknowledged that he has nothing but respect for Jokic and is looking forward to an exciting Game 5. Devin Booker after the game even talked about the issue and decided to have a little fun with how things played out between the owner and Jokic.
Devin Booker seemed to like the team effort tonight vs the Nuggets. Even from owner Mat Ishbia who ended up getting star Center Nikola Jokic a tech after he got slightly shoved.#WeAreTheValley #NBA #NBAPlayoffs pic.twitter.com/1zc0Kq9sli
