The X-Factor in all of this, Drey Jameson. Who pitched multiple innings out of the bullpen for the second time this season. Both times the Diamondbacks got the win.

Yesterday Jameson recorded his first ever save in the majors. He will be our key guy out of the bullpen this season as he works his way into the starting rotation next season.

After Arizona put up 4 runs in the 8th inning to take the lead 8-5. Jameson came in and dominated the bottom of the last two innings to record his first save.

He pitched 2 complete innings, allowing a solo home run in the 9th. He also allowed 3 hits over those two innings yet stayed focused and show major league poise.

In the big leagues it is very rare that solo home runs will hurt you. It is when you give up those crooked numbers. 3 or 5 runs in an inning that can be demoralizing to the club.

Already through only two appearances, Jameson has shown his ability to pitch at a high level. Recording 1 win and 1 save, right now he is responsible for 67% of this clubs wins from the pitching side.

He has pitched 6 innings over two games, striking out 7 batters. This 25 year old has a ton of promise to be the face of the D-Backs over the next few seasons.

Last year and this year combined, over 30.1 innings pitched he is 4-0 with 1 save. The save he recorded yesterday. Sits on a 1.78 ERA, 1.19 Whip, and struck out 31 batters. That is an average of over 1 strikeout per inning.
