Arizona Cardinals’ owner Monti Ossenfort has expressed interest in trading away the team’s #3 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

During the first day of action at the NFL combine on Tuesday, Ossenfort explained he is open to the idea, but still has to wait to see what teams have to offer.

“We are prepared to select a player with our pick. That said, our phones will be open for any team that desires to move up. We will listen to offers!”

However, the Cardinals are not the only team interested in trading away their first-round pick, the Chicago Bears, who hold the #1 overall selection, have also expressed interest in trading it away.

Whether the Bears trade away their first-round pick to a quarterback-hungry team could determine Ossenfort’s end decision.

As of today, the Cardinals are zeroing in on DL Jalen Carter out of Georgia, LB Will Anderson Jr. from Alabama, or DE Tyree Wilson out of Texas Tech.

If the Bears do pull the trigger, and a team such as the Colts grabs a quarterback at first overall, Arizona may not be able to pass up the opportunity of grabbing just about whoever they want on the defensive end, assuming that is the area they are targeting.

The 2023 NFL draft will take place from April 27th through the 29th. The three-day stretch will be a pivotal point in the Cardinals’ franchise as they attempt to turn things around after a disappointing 2022 season.
