Game Winner in Tucson Arizona

College Basketball. Saturday afternoon, Arizona State Sun Devils traveled to Tucson, Arizona to take on the Wildcats of Arizona University. An in-state rivalry that is time tested. No matter what the standings say, these teams go to war and today was no different.

ASU vs a ranked Arizona in Tucson are 0-29 with their last win against the Wildcats in Tucson coming in 1995.

Senior Day for Arizona University

To make this game even more special, adding a little extra to the pot, today is “senior day” for the university of Arizona. With 4 seniors on the team being honored by the program and fans.

Cedric Henderson Jr, Matthew Lang, Jordan Mains, and Courtney Ramey are the four seniors. Ramey and Lang being 5th year seniors.

Arizona State on their Last Leg

On the bubble of the tournament, the Sun Devils are desperate for a win against the number 7 team in the country. UofA are currently projected to be a 2 seed in this years tournament.

A win or at least a competitive game could go a long way for ASU. With only two more games in the regular season after todays matchup with the Wildcats, the Sun Devils are running out of time to make a good impression on the committee.

If the Sun Devils can not win at least 2 of these games down the stretch. They will need to win the Pac-12 Tournament to get an automatic bid.

A College Basketball Rivalry Game with High Stakes

With a little over 7 minutes left in the game, ASU only trailing by 8 are in striking distance. The largest lead by Arizona in the game.

ASU led by senior Warren Washington, junior DJ Horne, and sophomore Jamiya Neal who all three have 12 points at this point in the game.

Arizona led by senior Cedric Henderson Jr, who has 17 after hitting a pair of free throws with 6:30 left and pushing the lead to 10 for the wildcats.

Azuolas Tubelis who has been the best player for the Wildcats all season also has 17 points and 7 rebounds with 5 minutes left.

Down the Wire

Arizona State looks shaky, yet somehow, someway it is a 6 point game with 5:15 left as Arizona calls a timeout. ASU cuts it to 5 with a huge three pointer; 4:45 left in the game.

With 4 minutes exactly left on the clock, the game goes to commercial. With ASU set to shoot two free throws on return. A chance to turn this game into a one possession.

This is what everybody in Arizona expected when they saw this game on the schedule, a hard nose brawl.

Final Four Minutes of Basketball

The free throw line was the biggest difference in this game today, 28 for Arizona, and only 10 for ASU.

With 2:20 on the clock a huge turn of events when a turnover turns into a wide open three pointer for ASU, cutting the lead to 1 point. ASU 81, Arizona 82 with 2:12 on the clock. ASU with two timeouts and Arizona with 1.

A beautiful back door cut allows Arizona to get to the line. Also pinning a 5th and final foul of Cambridge who has big vital to ASU today.

DJ Horne with a huge three pointer to put ASU up 1 point, 84-83 with 1:31 left on the clock. Courtney Ramey attacks the basket and forces another foul and more free throws for Arizona.

After two free throws made for Arizona and a layup from ASU, the game remains a one score lead for ASU. An Arizona turnover follows.

38.5 seconds left, ASU with the one point lead, 86-85.

After Arizona scores on a driving lay-up and takes the lead once again Bobby Hurley calls his last timeout. Shot clock is off, down 1, 24.6 seconds left.

After a crazy possession, Arizona grabs a rebound and gets fouled with 2.9 seconds left and a chance to push the lead to 3.

HOLY COYOTE THE SUN DEVILS HIT A THREE POINTER FROM BEYOND HALF COURT AT THE BUZZER TO WIN THE GAME BY 1 POINT.

After Arizona went 1 and 1 from the free throw line leaving a chance for a full court heeve. BOOM! Game-winner.
