“I’m close I feel good I played one’s today. Pretty active, and my body feels good just got to get my body in shape and feeling ready can’t wait to play I’m excited.

He was asked how crazy it would be if his first game is next week against the Oklahoma City Thunder with Kevin Durant. To Payne, it would be a full circle moment for him and his family.

“It’s really crazy. I said that to my dad. It’s crazy we play OKC first, too. It’s crazy how it’s set up. I’m pretty sure Sam might come to the game so it would be pretty awesome.”

Payne was also asked about the arrival of his former teammate Durant and he’s looking forward to showing his friend how much he’s grown.

“It’s pretty cool to see him. My game has evolved so it should be pretty interesting to play with him again and kind of see how it is I was pretty young, like you said I was a rookie… It’s been fun so far can’t wait to play on the floor with him.”

Kevin Durant on playing alongside Devin Booker “He’s just one of those players I admired”

The next game against OKC is on February 24th a week from tonight. Before then the Suns are hoping to get a win at Footprint Center tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers.
