Manager of the Year Award

MLB has predicted that the manager of the year award will go out to Torey Lovullo who sign a one year extension last season.

This will be Lovullo’s 7th season as Diamondbacks manager. Coming off of a season which was successful in house more than on paper.

2022 showed the emergence of young potential superstars coming up from the minor leagues. With a strong pitching staff to carry the load.

The Diamondbacks last season had a few weeks where they were mentioned in the wild card race, although ultimately not coming close. The club still finished 18 games over their projected win total for the season.

The D-Backs are poised to make a run at the playoffs this season with Torey Lovullo at the helm. These are only predictions, yet, it is nice to see Arizona get some recognition in this form.

Cy Young Award

On top of Lovullo being mentioned as the front runner for the manager of the year. A pitcher who put on an absolute clinic last season, especially in the months of July and August, Zac Gallen is the choice for the NL Cy Young.

Gallen took the next step last season, showing he is an absolute ace out there on the mound. Merrill Kelly and him became one of the best 1-2 punches in the league.

Gallen broke Brandon Webb‘s scoreless inning streak last season by going nearly 6 weeks without giving up a run in a major league start.

He is expected to be dominant this season, as the MLB has predicted he will win the 2023 Cy Young award.

Just Get Close

As long as Zac Gallen and Torey Lovullo are in talks to be the Cy Young and Manager of the Year award; the Diamondbacks should be in good hands.

Looking to take that next step as a young team and make a wild card run, Gallen will be a key part of that.
