Pregame Notes Ahead Of Suns Vs. Wizards

Rob Gray- USA TODAY Sports

Tonight the Suns will be taking on the Wizards for the first time this season. The Suns will be without 5 players for tonight’s game as Devin Booker still remains out with a groin injury. The Wizards will also be without a key player as Kristaps Porzingis will be out with an illness. Here are some things that I took note of pregame ahead of tonight’s matchup.

Cam Johnson Shooting Pregame:

A great site to see for Suns fans as Cam Johnson who has been out of the lineup since late October is putting up shots and moving well ahead of tonight’s matchup against the Wizards. Johnson suffered a torn meniscus in an October game at home against the Portland Trail Blazers. Today he looks to be getting up shots and moving really well.

Johnson is still a ways away from returning but this an encouraging sign during the next step in his rehab as the Suns have been missing his presence on the floor.

Jae Crowder Trade In The Future?

It’s been known that Jae Crowder and the Suns have been working on a trade to send him somewhere else since the offseason. Now with news of Mat Ishiba purchasing the Suns, a Jae Crowder trade can potentially get underway here soon as according to Monty Williams during his pregame presser, that was one of the main reasons why a trade hasn’t happened thus far.

With a new owner now in place, things can be moving in the Crowder front soon and it will be interesting to see what kind of players the Suns get back for him in pursuit of a title run this season.

No Sign of Devin Booker:

Now granted, Devin Booker was ruled out earlier today with a groin injury. However there was no sign of the three time all-star and former all-nba player on the court today during warmups.

Earlier in his pregame presser, Monty Williams stated that he doesn’t have an update on Booker’s injury status but will have more on it tomorrow. In the meantime we shall just wait and see how things shake up between now and the Suns matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Tip-off begins in an hour in a game the Suns are hoping to improve their win streak to 4 in a row.
