Pregame Notes Ahead Of Tonight’s Matchup Between Suns and Pelicans

© Joe Camporeale- USA TODAY Sports

Tonight the Phoenix Suns look to improve to 4-1 on the season as they face off against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans are off to a great start to the season as they’re 3-1 to start the season. However, they have quite a few people that are questionable or out due to injury. Here are some pregame notes that I have taken ahead of tonight’s matchup.

No Sign of Zion Williamson During Warmups:

Quite possibly the most important question of the night is whether Pelicans star player Zion Williamson is going to play tonight as he was a game-time decision tonight according to Adrian Wojnarowski earlier today. Based on early game warmups Williamson hasn’t come out on the floor to warm up which indicates that the Pelicans are sitting him out to get him ready for their next matchup on Sunday against the Clippers.

CJ McCollum Looks Like He’s Ready To Go:

Pelicans point guard CJ McCollum looks like he’s ready to play against the Phoenix Suns tonight after being questionable going into the game with a right third PIP strain in his right hand. With the Pelicans already without Zion Williamson, Bradon Ingram, and Herb Jones, McCollum is looking to be their go-to scorer for tonight’s game.

The tip-off for the game begins at 7 PM tonight at Footprint Center.
