The Arizona Diamondbacks just lost to the Kansas City Royals in the second game of a 2 game series, but all eyes were on Zac Gallen, who is in the middle of making history.

Zac Gallen took the bump tonight in the middle of a scoreless inning streak, and tonight after pitching 6 complete innings he pushed that scoreless inning streak to 27.1 innings. That puts him as the second longest streak in Diamondbacks history, behind Brandon Webb’s 42 in 2007.

If he can keep this up for another 2-3 starts he will find himself toward the top of the all-time list. Right now he is #25 on the list all time.

When he left the game, the D-Backs had a 1 to nothing lead, unfortunately they would end up losing the game 5-3.

In the bottom of the 9th inning Cristian Walker stepped to the plate with 2 outs, and hit a bomb. Which turned out to give him that milestone of 30 every player is aiming to achieve, also a career high for Walker.

This loss brings the Diamondbacks to 11-11 on the month, with only 35 games left this season all fans are left to do is root for milestones like Gallen’s and Walker’s.
