Despite falling 39-31 to Texas in double overtime, the Sun Devils superstar finished with 1,711 rushing yards this season, surpassing Eno Benjamin’s single-season record in Arizona State program history of 1,642 set in 2018.

With 1,568 rushing yards coming into the Peach Bowl, Skattebo rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns from 30 carries. Involved in a trick play, he also turned into a quarterback as he threw a 42-yard pass to Malik McClain in the fourth quarter to tie the game 31-31 in the fourth quarter.

All season long, Skattebo was one of the main reasons why Arizona State was able to achieve 11 wins, be crowned the Big 12 champions and play in the College Football Playoff. Overall on the year, he racked up 2,316 scrimmage yards from 293 carries and 45 receptions.

After the game, Skattebo was named the Peach Bowl Offensive MVP award even though his team was eliminated from the College Football Playoff. Skattebo was the first-ever recipient of the reward from the losing team.

From Sacramento State in the Big Sky Conference to transferring to ASU last season, he has etched his name in the program’s history books. He earned multiple Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors and was an All-Big 12 first-team selection.

The way he commanded the ball, broke multiple tackles and made a substantial impact on the team around him, Skattebo will never be forgotten by ASU fans. In the running for the Heisman Trophy this year, Skattebo has secured himself as a pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Now that his career at ASU has come to an end, do you think he is one of the best Sun Devils of all time?
