The Big 12 Championship game is set as Arizona State will be taking on Iowa State on Saturday afternoon, with likely a a trip to the College Football Playoffs on the line. Both teams finished in a 4-way tie for first place in the conference, but won the tie breakers over BYU and Colorado to earn the trip to Arlington.
Breaking the matchup down by the numbers, the Sun Devils will have a slight advantage on offense, averaging less than a point more per game in conference play. However, the Cyclones statistically have the best defense in the entire league and average giving up less than 20 points a game. If there is one weakness to that group though, it would be against the run. Iowa State ranks 3rd to last in the Big 12 in rushing yards allowed per game. If Kam Skattebo and the Sun Devils are able to exploit this, this could be in for a big day and well on their way to making the College Football Playoffs.
